Prep volleyball: Bothell 3, Edmonds-Woodway 0
Bothell -- With Katie Arneson and Peircen Lindquist dominating the net, the Bothell Cougars scored a three-set (25-22, 25-15, 25-23) win over Edmonds-Woodway (1-2 overall) in girls volleyball on Monday night.
Arneson provided 12 kills and Lindquist added another nine for the Cougars. Bothell (1-1) also got some great back line play from Ali Hadley -- five aces, nine digs and 25 assists -- and Haley Bidell, who had another five aces and eight digs.
The Cougars maintained the lead throughout and closed out Game 1 with a three-point win then asserted themselves in Game 2. And while the Warriors valiantly competed in the third, ultimately they just weren't able to deal with Bothell's power up front.
Leading the way for Edmonds-Woodway in the nonleague loss was Maddie Houvener, who had 11 assists and six digs. Sydney Donaldson added four kills and two blocks for the Warriors.
