730 pounds of prescription drugs turned in on Take Back Day
Last weekend’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day netted more than 730 pounds of dangerous prescription drugs from around Snohomish County.
The day included several sites around the county where people could drop off their unwanted medications, said Rebecca Hover, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Those medications now will be safely disposed of, she said. When left at home, unwanted prescription drugs can end up being abused or wind up polluting the environment.
Those who still have unwanted medications can drop them off with the county year-round, Hover said. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/SnoCoPillDrop or call 425-388-3199.
