One thing I always look forward to (reading) are Larry Simoneaux’s columns. They are a great way to begin the day and always leave me with things to ponder or reflect on.
He has a great sense of humor and always seems to be “right on target” with his homespun sense of values. He hit the bullseye (once again) with his latest column on the need for an outdoor public shooting range in Snohomish County.
I couldn’t agree with him more and would urge our politicians in Everett to focus some effort on making this long desired dream come true! The need is obvious (the Index Shooting Range closure) and the positive outcomes very apparent (the Sultan High School Claybreakers program). Local law enforcement would be an excellent partner in making this a reality.
Our County Council should act with the political will it will take to build such a facility, just as they recently did to ban all target shooting east of Sultan. The public range would be the solution to the problem that caused the ban in the first place. You build it and they will come!
Good job, Larry.
