Fire sparked by cigarette causes $100K in damages to Everett home
EVERETT A fire apparently started by a lit cigarette caused about $100,000 damage Monday morning to an Everett home.
An occupant of the home on 27th Dr. SE had been smoking on the back porch, fire marshal Rick Robinson said.
The cigarette apparently wasnt all the way out when it was discarded. It ignited materials set aside for recycling, he said.
The 7:50 a.m. fire moved up the homes siding and into the attic, Robinson said.
No one was injured.
