Alligator Soul shuts its doors

We just got word that Everett's popular Cajun food restaurant Alligator Soul shut its doors this afternoon due to economic hardship.

This was posted on the restaurant's Facebook page: "Dear friends and members of the Gator Club Family, it is with a heavy heart the Gator must inform y'all that due to economic hardship The Alligator Soul in Everett closed its doors today for good. We would like to thank our friends, the community and most of all our Gator Club, who have been our most faithful of fans. ...With a fond farewell, the Gator and the Family at the Soul."

Customer Rachel D. Jenkins left this message on the Facebook page, "I was on my way to grab some food for the second time this week. Sign is off, shades are drawn. Was just there Wed night. No indication. No warning. Must have been a very difficult decision. My heart goes out to the excellent staff and entertainers. Was just beginning to feel at home. My mind is filled with sorrow, disappointment and expletives."

I miss decent gumbo already.
