Hasselbeck injured, return questionable

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck left the game with a hip injury after scoring on a 1-yard run in the first quarter of Sunday’s game in Tampa Bay. Charlie Whitehurst has taken over at quarterback, and the team said Hasselbeck is questionable to return.

Even if the injury isn’t serious, the Seahawks may decide to keep Hasselbeck on the sideline to make sure he is healthy for next week’s game. Because St. Louis beat San Francisco Sunday morning, this game doesn’t mean anything for Seattle’s playoff hopes. Win or lose Sunday, Seattle’s game next week against St. Louis is for the NFC West title.

Hasselbeck completed 3 of 4 passes for 24 yards before the injury.
