Good Health: The resolution guide

Tips and tricks to help you meet your goals

New Year's resolutions: The phrase flows off the tongue, doesn't it?

The first weeks of January just seem like a perfect time to take a hard look at ourselves and maybe set a few goals for the year. We swear we'll spend less and save more. We promise to devote more time to Grammy and Pop-pop. We will recycle!

Maybe we're long overdue for a visit to our doctor or dentist.

But mostly, we vow to lose weight and get more exercise. To shape up, move around and quit eating french fries. Ice cream. Bacon. Chocolate.

In this second edition of Good Health, we tackle some common topics of resolve. You'll find useful information on what medical tests you should schedule and how early you ought to consider dental visits for your kids (it's younger than you think!).
We look at the pros and cons of gummy vitamins, and the costs of treatments for nonsurgical facial rejuvenation.

We think there's something for everybody here, and we hope you'll feel motivated to have a healthy 2011.
