Learn about emergency preparedness in Everett

EVERETT -- Those who live in Everett can sign up for a free Community Emergency Response Team class.

The Everett Fire Department is offering the class from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays from March 3 through April 28.

The class will cover emergency preparedness, including recovery and survival skills, officials said. More than 425 people have taken it in Everett so far.

Applications are available at the Everett emergency management office at 2801 Oakes Avenue. Friday is the deadline to apply.
