Sing songs of romance with Everett Chorale

Romance will be in the air during the Everett Chorale’s annual Broadway Sing-Along.

This year’s theme is romance with the sing-along falling on the eve of Valentine’s Day.

But this year’s mission of the sing-along remains the same as last year: The audience is invited to sing along with the chorale to some of Broadway’s famous and favorite tunes.

This year’s selections include “Some Enchanted Evening” from “South Pacific”; “People Will Say We’re In Love” from “Oklahoma”; “Till There Was You” from “The Music Man”: “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man” From “Show Boat”; “Hello Young Lovers” and “Getting To Know You” from “The King and I”; and “My Funny Valentine” from “Babes in Arms.”

And you don’t have to worry about being shy about singing or missing a beat. You, the audience, will be joined by an ensemble from the chorale so you’ll be able to keep up with the professionals.

Music director Lee Mathews also will share some Broadway trivia questions. Audience members who guess correctly will win prizes.

Also, there will be six baskets to be raffled off, all filled with romantic goodies.

“Broadway Sing Along,” the chorale’s annual fundraiser concert, starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Snohomish County Public Utility District Auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett.

Suggested donation is $10. For more information go to www.everettchorale.org/index.html.
