Losers stayed to watch the finals table at a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament at the Lake Stevens Team Fitness Center.
Dave DeLorm with Lake Stevens Rotary said there was a great turn out, with 102 players.
First place was split between Ross Hallanger and Shane Volkmann, both from Lake Stevens, and each received $750.
The third place finisher was Dennis Kaiser from Lake Stevens and he received $300.
All the yummy prize money came from the $50 it cost for each player to read ’em and weep.

Almost 12,000 children received gifts this year from Toys for Tots.
The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation handed the task of collecting and delivering goods to Mary Butler, who volunteered as a local community organizer. She volunteered for Toys for Tots in 2009.
Knowing her skills, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation called her, Butler says, and told her they wanted her, especially her, to run the program this year between Lynnwood and Smokey Point.
With the help of volunteers, Butler says they collected 22,669 toys that were distributed to seven organizations.
Boeing employees helped by donating 7,545 toys.
“Due to the generosity and kindness of our partners, neighbors and friends, we were able to be successful this year,” Butler says.

I’ve been searching for Doris M. Sprague, a nursing student in Everett in 1927. A reader in Everett found the pin she received when she graduated and wanted to return it to the family.
The search got closer, thanks to a kind Everett researcher who discovered enlightening information.
In 1930, Doris M. Sprague was living with her mother, Mabel, at 1421 Broadway, in Everett. Her occupation was “special trained nurse.”
Doris Mae Sprague was born May 5, 1905, in Washington. She died Dec. 17, 1990, in Los Angeles.
Her mother’s maiden name was Vanvliet.
In 1910, she was living with her mother, F.H. Sprague, her sister Katherine and brother John L. Sprague.
If anyone can provide any more information, there is still a pin to give to a member of the Sprague family.
