Pedestrian killed on Highway 529 near Marysville

A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday evening on Highway 529 near Marysville, according to the state patrol.

The accident occurred about 8:40 p.m. when a car struck a man in his 40s. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remained under investigation late Saturday evening, said Trooper Mark Francis.

The accident occurred on northbound Highway 529 where the road circles under the I-5 overpass, he said.
