The Daily News of Longview was the state’s only daily newspaper to see circulation grow during the past six months, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
The nonprofit group reported the Longview paper saw circulation rise by 16 percent daily. Sunday circulation grew by 28 percent during the period. The paper had 24,658 daily subscribers and 25,443 on Sundays.
The Herald saw its daily circulation drop, but by the least amount in Washington state. The Herald had 48,458 daily subscribers, a drop of 0.6 percent. Sunday Herald circulation dipped to 49,115, or 2.9 percent.
On Saturdays, The Herald was the only paper in the state to see circulation rise. It rose by 0.3 percent to 43,777.
Seattle Times circulation fell by 3.7 percent daily and by 2.8 percent on Sundays, the audit bureau reported. Its numbers are 253,742 and 346,991, respectively.
The Bremerton Sun lost 10.2 percent of its daily subscribers, the biggest percentage drop in the state. The Bellingham Herald lost 6.8 percent of its Sunday subscribers, the biggest percentage drop in that category.
