Anita Huntley of Snohomish has been invited to join Benedictine University's chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, a national honor society in business, management, and administration. It's only available to students in the top 20 percent of their graduating class.
Al Mdhau of Mill Creek has been selected at Community Transit's coach operator of the year. The award honors his consistent performance for the agency's Swift rapid transit system.

The Bryant Store, 26804 Highway 9 north of Arlington, has added a beer garden at its location. The store is across the street from the parking area for the new section of the Centennial Trail. The license allows for all-ages family gatherings and events.
Rob Thielke of Everett's Vern Fonk Insurance is scheduled to appear on "The Rachel Ray Show" Thursday. The show airs locally at 3 p.m. on KIRO 7. Thielke's appearances on Fonk commercials have developed a cult status that has been featured on several TV shows, including "The Tonight Show." On Ray's show, he talks about the commercials and the reasoning behind them.
JoAnna Weeks of WhidbeyLocal.com has launched an application, now available free on iTunes, for searching island restaurants, shops and events. She said an Android app should be ready soon.
