Everett Merchants roll over Kelowna

EVERETT -- Starter Ty Holm pitched five innings, striking out seven and giving up just two earned runs, as the Everett Merchants defeated the Kelowna Jays 13-5 on Friday.

Geoff Brown, out of the University of Washington, pitched 31/3 innings in relief, for the Merchants, striking out six and allowing just one earned run.

Andy Lyon hit two doubles and had four RBI for Everett, which improved to 4-1 in the Pacific International League. Lyon went to Edmonds Community College and currently attends New Mexico State University.

With the loss, Kelowna fell to 5-3 in the PIL and 8-4 overall.
