Peter, Paul but (sadly) no Mary at Monroe fair

Peter and Paul, yes, the Peter and Paul of Peter, Paul and Mary, will headline this year's Evergreen State Fair.

Although Mary Travers died in September 2009, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey still give concerts.

The Evergreen State Fair is scheduled from Aug. 25 to Sept. 5.

In addition to the musical acts, the grandstand entertainment also will feature several nights of motorsports, including a demolition derby, monster truck crush and speed car races.

Tickets for the concerts and motorsport events are on sale at www.evergreenfair.org.

Prices range from $10 to $30.

Admission to the fair will not be included in the grandstand ticket price, a new policy this year.

Motorsport events begin at 6 p.m. Concerts are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
