As a parent, it's your obligation and duty to listen to music by the Not-Its!
They are among the hottest music on the kindie rock circuit today, delivering danceable tunes with a message for the 3 to 10 year old crowd.
But don't worry if you haven't downloaded them onto your iPod yet. You'll have a chance to check them out when they rock Everett.
The Not-Its! kick off the city's Children's Concert Series so you can hear this band at 10 a.m. July 7 at Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake, 11405 Silver Lake Road, Everett.
The admission is free.
The Not-Its are also about to release their third CD June 28 and they might be playing tunes from that album.
The Not-Its! new record is called “Tag, You're It!” and costs $14.
The band has been playing now for more than two years, appealing to kids and parents both with clever rock music reminiscent of the B-52s with delightfully fun four-part harmonies spilling out with catchy lyrics.
Songs from the new CD like “Freeze Tag” tell kids to drop the video games and get outside. “Mathematics” sounds like a Weezer hit with lyrics that bring the listener into the mind of a child: “I like so many things at school, my brain quadruples in size with mathematic fuel,” according to The Not-Its! press material.
“Keep On Tryin'” tells kids to not give up when things get tough
.
The band consists of Sarah Shannon, lead singer; Danny Adamson, rhythm guitarist and singer; Nori Hoeft, bass player and backup singer; Tom Baisden, lead guitarist and Mike Bayer, drummer.
