• Healthy eating for busy people: June 29, $43. Certified nutritionist Karen Lamphere teaches easy ways to make healthy eating convenient and timesaving. New cooking and shopping shortcuts with recipes such as black bean, yam, spinach and cheese quesadillas; Mediterranean frittata; and penne with chicken, greens, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese.

• Al Fresco Dining: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 12, $45. Karen Binkhorst, personal chef and culinary instructor, whips up a summer menu for an outdoors dining experience, including pan-roasted cauliflower with almonds and golden raisins; stuffed eggplant with herbed goat cheese and lime-honey drizzle; and chicken and prosciutto rolls with tomato compote.

• Exceptional beers and bodacious burgers: July 13 at WineStyles Boutique in Bothell, with owner Lane Scott, $48. Grilled burgers with attitude, paired with local and international brews from the lightest wheat to the darkest porter. Beef and bacon barbecue ranch burger; chicken burger with garlic rosemary mayo; smoky double salmon burger; and Asian turkey burger with sesame slaw. • 15, 20, 30-minute entrees: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 29, $45. Fifteen minutes or less: Mexican corona beef and beer soup, and citrus chicken with feta and arugula; 20 minutes or less: chicken with tomatoes and mozzarella, and shrimp peanut noodles; 30 minutes or less: salmon, with lavender roasted potatoes and tossed spinach.

• Northwest berries: 7 to 9 p.m. July 7, $46.50. A berry good menu, including Champagne strawberry bisque, grilled salmon with warm raspberry sauce, salad of butter lettuce with merlot-raspberry dressing and strawberry shortcake.

• Cool summer desserts: June 30. Sweets without any sweat on your part, including pink lady ice cream cake, panna cotta with berries and lemon strawberry trifle. You'll be able to sample them all.

• Walking the farmers market: July 7. Check out what looks good at the Snohomish Farmers Market, bring it back to the kitchen and prepare it for a meal. Ingredients may include fresh meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, berries, vegetables and legumes. Explore what's seasonal, how to check for freshness and learn how to shop on your own. (This class is offered several times during the summer, with changing menus.)
