Over 50 and ready to enjoy the summer
As we prepare our second edition of Vitality, our magazine for people over 50, we still have our fingers crossed for real summer weather.
Northwesterners never let gray skies keep them indoors, however.
If golf is your game, we have a roundup of local courses that are particularly friendly to players over 50. All the courses offer discounts to seniors and feature a setting more suited to aging knees.
Speaking of aging knees, if you're more of a solitary hiker but find your knees don't carry you up and down hills like they used to, we offer a knee-friendly hike.
And you'll find a profile of an Arlington man who enjoys being outside, camping under the stars. But he does it 1860s style as a Civil War re-enactor.
Grandchildren visiting for the summer? We offer tips for three fun activities for grandparents and grandchildren to do together. Take these outings or be inspired to come up with your own.
On the other hand, if you're looking for love in all the wrong places, we have a story for you. We talked to some experts about the dating scene for folks over 50. Maybe you can glean some ideas for another chance at romance.
Wherever your interests lie, we hope you find something new and useful, and that you have shed your winter jacket and wool socks for the summer at last.
