The rockfish is one of seven kinds of fish and shellfish caught in Puget Sound that can pose a health risk to consumers.

In a recent study conducted by the state Department of Health, a few kinds of seafood caught in Port Gardner and the Snohomish River estuary were found to have high concentrations of toxic substances. These substances could lead to higher risks of cancer over a prolonged period of consumption.

You can see a photo gallery of the seven kinds of seafood found in Puget Sound that could cause health risks here.
