Sorry this is a little late, was away from the computer for a bit. Anyway, as you’ve probably already heard, the Seahawks signed K Jeff Reed, who played the bulk of his career in Pittsburgh (and yes, he was on the team that beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL).
Reed was franchised by the Steelers prior to the 2010 season, but struggled last year and was cut. He finished the year in San Francisco. Rookie kicker Wes Byrum, who signed last week as an undrafted free agent, has been released.
The Seahawks announced a number of other moves, most of which are confirming signings that have already been reported.
Seattle signed the following players:
CB Kelly Jennings
LB Michael Johnson
TE Zach Miller
K Jeff Reed
RB Chase Reynolds
DE Jimmy Wilkerson
Of that list, Reynolds, an undrafted rookie who starred at Division I-AA Montana, and Johnson, who played at North Alabama and signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent last year, are new names.
Seattle released the following players:
DT Ladi Ajiboye
K Wes Byrum
G Michael Huey
QB Zac Lee
LB Blake Sorensen
