The Silvertips' Tyler Maxwell (9) has been invited to the Minnesota Wild's training camp.

EVERETT -- Everett Silvertips free agent forwards Tyler Maxwell and Campbell Elynuik have received invitations to attend NHL rookie training camps in September, the Tips announced Wednesday.
The 20-year-old Maxwell will attend camp with the Minnesota Wild. Elynuik, who is entering his 19-year-old season, is heading to camp with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Maxwell, a native of Manhattan Beach, Calif., was Everett's leading scorer last season with 66 points (41 goals, 25 assists), and he's third on the Tips' career scoring list with 181 points in 197 games over three seasons. This is Maxwell's second NHL rookie camp invite as he attended camp with his hometown Los Angeles Kings in 2009.
Elynuik, who hails from Calgary, Alberta, went unselected in this year's NHL draft, his first year of eligibility. Elynuik had an injury-plagued 2010-11, appearing in just 28 games. He recorded three goals, two assists and 54 penalty minutes in those 28 contests.
Maxwell and Elynuik join Everett's NHL draft picks, 20-year-old center Landon Ferraro (Detroit), 20-year-old right wing Josh Birkholz (Florida) and 19-year-old goaltender Kent Simpson (Chicago) as Tips who will be attending NHL rookie camps in September. Ferraro, as an overager who has already signed a contract with the Red Wings, is a strong contender to play in the minors this season rather than return to Everett.
Everett 18-year-old defenseman Evan Morden attended prospects camp with the NHL's Dallas Stars as a free agent earlier this summer.
