Best deals at the Evergreen State Fair

If you haven't made your plans for attending the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe this year, consider some discount admissions.*

The Evergreen State Fair opens at 10 a.m. Thursday in Monroe. Admission is free until 1 p.m.

After 1 p.m., admission at the gate is $10 general, $7 for seniors ages 62 to 89 and for children age 6 to 15; and free for seniors 90 and older and kids 5 and under.

Advance tickets are $7 and $5.50 at the box office, online at etix.com or by calling 800-514-3849, ext. 2.

Today is the last day to purchase advance tickets.

Special discount admission days are as follows:

• Admission is free with three cans of food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 26 and Sept. 2.

• Admission is free for seniors age 62 and over on Senior Citizens Day, Aug. 29.

• Admission is $2 for everyone until 2 p.m. on Twosday Tuesday, Aug. 30.

• If you buy one adult ticket, you get the second one free on Why Work Wednesday, Aug. 31.

• Admission is free for youngsters 15 and under on Kids Day, Sept. 1.

• Admission is $5 all day for all members of the military with ID on Armed Forces Day, Sept. 2.

• And on Play Day, Sept. 5, the fair offers reduced admission to everyone: $7.50 general, $5.50 for seniors ages 62 to 89 and for children age 6 to 15; and free for seniors 90 and older and kids 5 and under.

Parking is $8 to $10. Some events such as concerts, car races, the rodeo and the carnival have additional admission.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily through Sept. 4 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe.
