Evergreen State Fair results

  • Whitney Auguston, 15, kicks back Thursday with Anada (left) and Tsunami (right), a pair of beef cattle she is showing at the Evergreen State Fair this week in Monroe. A member of Wranglers 4-H Club in Snohomish, Whitney pointed out that the cows are not just comfortable to nap on during a warm summer day: "It's nice when it's cold out because they're at 101 degrees naturally." With the fair just getting started, there's plenty of work to be done. "If you're here tomorrow, I'm making you wash a cow," Whitney told Tiffany Baker, 15, a friend from school who came by the barn to talk. Whitney was quick to point out that that means arriving around 5 a.m.
