AquaSox blanked by Spokane

Everett fails to gain ground in Northwest League West Division race

SPOKANE -- Three Spokane pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Indians kept the Everett AquaSox from gaining any ground in the Northwest League West Division race with a 3-0 win Thursday night at Avista Stadium.

Everett (20-16) remained one game behind Eugene in the chase for the division's second-half championship with two games to play. The AquaSox (36-38) are two games behind Vancouver for the division's second-best overall record. If Eugene, the first-half champion, also wins the second-half championship, the team with the division's second-best overall record advances to the playoffs.

Spokane starter Christopher Hanna (4-2) allowed three hits over seven innings and struck out seven. Jerad Eickhoff (second hold) and Matthew West (ninth save) each pitched an inning, allowing just one baserunner, Marcus Littlewood, who drew a two-out walk off Eickhoff.

Jordan Pries (4-3) was the tough-luck loser for Everett. He gave up all three Spokane runs in 61/3 innings.

Yefry Castillo led off the second inning with a double for Spokane and went to third on a single by Jimmy Swift. An out later, Castillo scored on a fielder's choice force out at second base on a ground ball by Zachary Cone.

Guillermo Pimentel led off the fifth with a single fior the Indians. Cone followed with a single and Hanser Alberto was hit by a pitch. Rougned Odor tripled to right field. The first two runners scored but Alberto was thrown out at home plate.
