Better late than …
What’s one more day? At long last, after years of delays, setbacks and readjustments to schedules, Boeing is expected to deliver its first 787 Dreamliner to All Nippon Airways this morning during a ceremony at Paine Field. The 787 is then scheduled to fly Tuesday to Toyko.
Perhaps fittingly, the flight over the international date line will delay the Dreamliner’s arrival until Wednesday.
Take the good with the bad: Among the new TV shows this fall is the Steven Spielberg-created family adventure “Terra Nova,” which follows a family from the dystopian future who are sent time-traveling to colonize the prehistoric past. It premieres tonight on Fox.
The family has to contend with dinosaurs, but are relieved to find themselves in a world where Fox’s “X Factor” and Simon Cowell do not exist.
Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1981, Boeing debuted the twin-engined 767 at its plant in Everett.
United Airlines is scheduled to take delivery of the first 767 later today after Boeing gets the first 787 off the runway.
