Lynnwood charity needs boys' jeans and pants
When folks at Clothes for Kids make a request, they truly need the merchandise.
They are asking for gently used and new jeans and pants for boys, sizes 5 to 12.
They provided clothing for more than 1,500 students in the first six weeks this school term. Any Snohomish County school child who qualifies for free or reduced lunch at their school qualifies for Clothes For Kids.
Many were able to get nice clothing to start out their school year, but the demand never ends.
To deliver clothing, go around to the back of the building and ring the doorbell between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursdays at 16725 52nd Ave. W., Suite B, in Lynnwood.
A volunteer will assist you and provide a tax receipt.
For more information, call 425-741-6500 or email office@clothesforkids.org.

City folk who would rather not drive to the boonies to visit a pumpkin farm have an option.
Fairbank "Hands On" Animal and Pumpkin Farm is located in Edmonds.
Janet Fairbank says they have farm animals for petting and feeding.
"Explore a vegetable garden," she says. "Wander up Hidden Bear Trail to Pumpkin Land where pumpkins and gourds are ready to be picked."
There is a tiny tot "Maize Maze" and a hay tunnel.
"There is a harvest time theme," Fairbank said. "Nothing scary."
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in October at 15308 52nd Ave. W. in Edmonds. Admission is $2.50.
For more information, go to www.fairbankfarm.com or call 425-743-3694.

They are expecting lots of parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents at Schack Art Center in Everett.
Starting Tuesday, the center will feature "Faces -- Art inspired by Paul Klee." It's an exhibit of artwork by Sunnycrest Elementary School students in the Lake Stevens School District.
The exhibit, curated by Rebecca DeFrang, art docent at Sunnycrest, runs through Oct. 20th in the Emerging Young Artist Gallery at 2921 Hoyt Ave. in Everett.
Students in Chad Brandt's 5th grade class at Sunnycrest received help from volunteer DeFrang, who was inspired by Swiss artist Paul Klee. Students used faces as subjects and utilized the art elements of line, shape and color.
See the exhibit for free.
The Emerging Young Artist Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
For more information, call 425-259-5050 or visit www.schack.org.
