YAKIMA -- A man who was fleeing police in a stolen truck when a crash killed two people in Yakima pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder and other charges.
Shaun Kollman, 32, faces up to 51 years in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 7 in Yakima County Superior Court.
Yakima Herald-Republic reported that Kollman had been out of prison for barely a month in June 2010 when he went on a two-hour chaotic spree in which he stole two pickups, hit at least one other car and nearly ran over a police officer.
The fatal crash killed, Pascual Ayala, 29, of Tieton, and Marina Barajas, 41, of Yakima. Their estates are suing the city over their deaths.
