MALTBY -- Two dogs were impounded Friday after they were found running loose at Maltby Elementary School in south Snohomish County.
As of Monday afternoon, the dogs were being held pending further investigation, said Vicki Lubrin, manager of Snohomish County Licensing & Animal Control Services.
Lubrin declined to say more until after the investigating officer completes his report.
The commotion started just before buses began pulling into the school around 8:30 a.m. Friday, school officials said. Children were kept on buses and in cars until police were called and the dogs left the area.
A note was sent to parents about what happened later that day.
Neighbors told the Herald that the dogs have been aggressive and the subject of past complaints to law enforcement.
