HopeWorks helps nonprofits increase revenue in lean economic times

What: Help for nonprofits to increase revenue in lean economic times

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 10, Dec. 1, Dec. 15

Where: Housing Hope’s Village Schilaty Family Learning Center, 5908 Evergreen Way, Everett

Cost: $25 per agency (up to five attendees) for the series, $10 per workshop

Housing Hope’s HopeWorks Social Enterprises will hold a series of brown-bag workshops to educate and assist nonprofit leaders in establishing social enterprises within their organizations.

In this time of funding cuts and dwindling budgets, nonprofit agencies are creating social enterprises or for-profit businesses to help meet the budgetary needs of their nonprofit mission. HopeWorks Social Enterprises, founded in 2011, is dedicated to helping nonprofits create social enterprises.

Three targeted brown-bag training sessions will be offered, each on a separate facet of social enterprise creation. Sessions are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Housing Hope’s Village Schilaty Family Learning Center, 5908 Evergreen Way, Everett, on the following days:

Nov. 10, Leveraging Your Organization’s Assets: Understand and use your organization’s existing assets to develop social enterprises

Dec. 1, Defining Social Benefit: Determine the importance of various levels of social benefit in a social enterprise

Dec. 15, Understanding Market Analysis: Effectively analyze the market for a social enterprise
