Football | Lakewood

The Cougars running back rushed for 231 yards on 24 carries, caught a pass for 14 yards and scored twice in Lakewood's 43-13 win over Lindbergh in a first-round state playoff game on Friday. The game came one week after Evans ran for a school-record 332 yards in a district playoff game against Burlington-Edison.

The Loggers middle blocker had 50 kills, 18 digs and 11 aces in four games over the weekend as Darrington went 3-1 to take third place in the Class 2B State Tournament.

The Mavericks goalkeeper stopped the fifth and final shot in a shootout and held Bishop Blanchet scoreless in the second half to give Meadowdale a 2-1 win and a spot in the Class 3A State Tournament semifinals for the first time since 1981.

The Highlanders forward scored twice as PCCS, the defending 1B/2B state champion, advanced to the state semifinals with a 2-1 overtime win over La Conner.

Girls swimming | Meadowdale

The Mavericks swimmer capped a great season by winning state titles in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races at this past weekend's Class 3A State Swim and Dive Championships. Keane also helped the Mavs 200 medley relay team finish 11th as the Mavericks girls swim team took 14th overall.
