Some pi r-squared; but the best pie are round

Pie are round

T-minus two days and counting: Perplexed over how big a bird to buy for your Thanksgiving meal? You'll find some help with the turkey math, including servings, thawing time and roasting time here.

But the article fails to mention a few other important figures, including:

28 seconds, time it takes the average dog or cat to get past the toddler who opened the door to the garage so it can pounce on the turkey while the cook's back is turned;

97 percent, amount by which you overestimated how many Brussels sprouts to fix;

18 minutes, elapsed time between the third helping of stuffing and your uncle's couch nap;

minus-5 pounds, amount by which you'll want to adjust your bathroom scale on Friday morning.

--

Good grief: You'll also find listings for the parade of Thanksgiving holiday TV specials, including parades, football and the classic "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" here. What you probably weren't expecting was "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving" with Lady Gaga.

Trust us: You don't want her ideas on what to do with turkey leftovers.

Playing with your food: It's down to turkey vs. pumpkin pie in The Herald's Food Fight tournament. You can vote online until 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Loser does the dishes.
