Festival of Trees ready for open house

The Festival of Trees Community Open House is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Edward D Hansen Conference Center at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. The festival features Christmas trees and wreaths, complimentary refreshments, performances by local community groups; children's crafts; and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Seventeen trees and six wreaths will be on display during four festival events, including opening night on Tuesday, the community open house on Wednesday, a gala dinner and auction on Thursday and a teddy bear breakfast on Saturday. After the Festival, the "Sparkling Star" tree will be moved to the Providence Hospital Colby Campus ER where children sick will be able to pick out their own stuffed bear from the tree.
