LAKE STEVENS -- Police in Lake Stevens are trying to solve two bank robberies that have occurred during the past two weeks.
Chase Bank, 9009 Market Place, was robbed around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Lake Stevens Police Chief Randy Celori said.
A man in a black sweatshirt with a bandana over his face demanded money and implied he had a gun, Celori said.
He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
A police dog tracked down what appeared to be the sweatshirt the man had been wearing as well as a $100 bill in a field. The suspect was not caught.
On the previous Tuesday afternoon, someone robbed the Whidbey Island Bank in the 600 block of Highway 9.
"We don't think they are (connected) but we are investigating," Celori said.
They were the first bank robberies in Lake Stevens since 2007, he said.
