Earlier in the year, most stores were charging more than $30 for the seven food items that make up the small market basket of food items that Herald shoppers check each month.
But prices generally fell last week, despite a sharp rise in the past few months for coffee and also for peanut butter following a small peanut crop.
WinCo had the lowest prices for the items -- $23.16 -- as it has since it was added to the list of stores several months ago.
Fred Meyer was next on the list, followed by Walmart and Haggen.
