EVERETT -- A hearing date to determine if Wal-Mart can build in Monroe has been postponed until later this month.
The issue is expected to be taken up at a hearing in Snohomish County Superior Court on Dec. 21. The judge in the case had a scheduling conflict. The original hearing date was Dec. 8.
The citizen group Friends of North Kelsey is appealing a decision made by the Monroe City Council to allow Wal-Mart to build in the city. The group argued that Wal-Mart did not fit the city's development code and design guidelines for streets in the North Kelsey area.
