Bald eagles returning to Skagit River
Visitors can view and learn about the big birds from volunteers with the Eagle Watchers Program hosted by the U.S. Forest Service. Three viewing stations with off-highway parking along Highway 20 provide spotting scopes and binoculars.
Volunteers will staff stations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 17 to Jan. 29, except for Christmas weekend.
Eagle Watcher stations are at Howard Miller Steelhead Park in Rockport, Sutter Creek Rest area (Milepost 100) and the Marblemount Fish Hatchery. Look for the yellow signs.
