787 to start Japan-Seattle service next year

The Boeing Co.'s 787s will start coming home next year when All Nippon Airways initiates nonstop service between Narita airport and Seattle.

The Associated Press reported that ANA will also serve San Jose, Calif., with the new West Coast route.

The airline says the destinations maximize the ability of the fuel-efficient, mid-size widebody to fly long-range routes, according to AP.

It will be the first U.S. service for the new plane that Boeing delivered to the launch customer in September, nearly three years late.
