Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen take their show "Portlandia" on the road. They're scheduled to perform Dec. 28 in Seattle.

"Portlandia," the hysterical sketch comedy show about life in the Pacific Northwest, returns to television for a second season.
The show airs at 10 p.m. Fridays on IFC, beginning Jan. 6.
Before that, the shows creators and stars, Fred Armisen of "Saturday Night Live" and Carrie Brownstein from the band Sleater Kinney, are going on a six-city tour that includes a stop in Seattle on Dec. 28.
"Portlandia: The Tour" is an opportunity to hang out with the two comics, the pair said recently during a conference call with reporters.
"It's kind of like visiting us, like seeing us in our living room," Armisen said.
During the show, the duo will play music, Armisen on drums, Brownstein on guitar, tell jokes, show clips from season two and answer fans' questions.
Just like the TV show, the live show is expected to feature hilarious characters. There also should be guest appearances by local bands.
"Portlandia" has infiltrated pop culture with new phrases including, "Put a bird on it" and "Cacao."
Who knows if season two will spawn similar sensations, Brownstein said.
"That's for the audience to decide," she said. "We're only flattered that anything from the show would take hold."
Catch Armisen and Brownstein in "Portlandia: The Tour" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Showbox at the Market, 1426 1st Ave., Seattle.
Tickets are $20 to $30 at www.showboxonline.com or 888-9-AXS-TIX.
