Russia’s second largest carrier, Transaero Airlines, has signed an agreement to order four Boeing Co. 787s, the airline said Tuesday.
"We have a deep expertise in operating different types of Boeing aircraft as our cooperation started in 1993 when Transaero became the first airline in Russia to fly with Boeing aircraft,” Olga Pleshakova, Transaero’s general director, said in a press statement.
Transaero will fly the Boeing Dreamliners on both domestic and international routes.
Last week, Transaero said it had bought two Boeing 777-300s from Singapore Airlines. The Russian carrier picked the 777s based on passenger feedback and Facebook and Twitter comments to the airline.
