Rufus Lake Triploids

Anton Jones of Darrell & Dad’s Family Guide Service in Chelan said jig fishing near the lower net pens on Rufus Woods Reservoir continues to be productive for fat, multi-pound triploid rainbow trout.

Plunk with Pautzke’s Fire Bait, or troll a mini Cha Cha or a wooly bugger witha Mack’s Smile Blade in front. Jones said to concentrate the edges of the current, and rocky habitat.

Jones said fish are also taken by bank anglers from Chief Joseph Dam at Bridgeport upriver along the southside river road to Brandt’s Landing, at any of several Corps of Engineers access points. It makes a good family trip, he said, because the Corps facilies include fireplaces, picnic tables, and permanent toilets. Be prepared to cast a slip sinker/floating bait rig a fair distance.
