Marysville house fire was arson, investigators say

MARYSVILLE -- Investigators believe a fire at a Marysville area house Tuesday night was arson.
The fire caused about $80,000 damage to a vacant home in the 6700 block of 40th Street NE.
It was reported around 10:30 p.m.
Firefighters battled the blaze defensively and it was under control within 30 minutes, said Tom Maloney, Marysville Fire District fire marshal.
No one was injured.
More than 18 firefighters were involved, with mutual aid from Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens.
The fire was investigated by the Marysville fire marshal's office and Marysville police, Maloney said.
