I guess there’s no app for that

What about Angry Birds? U.S. border officials say they did not allow a Canadian man across the border because he showed a photo of his Canadian passport on his iPad, as was reported yesterday. He was allowed across because he also presented a driver's license and a birth certificate.

So to be clear: Showing a photo of your passport on your iPad won't get you across the border, but it will demonstrate to authorities that you've run out of ways to entertain yourself with a tablet computer.

Survey says: A new Elway Poll of Washington state residents shows a drop in support for an initiative that would legalize and tax the sale of marijuana for adults over 21. Approval dropped to 48 percent from a high of 54 percent in July.

Initiative backers attributed the drop in approval to the fact that when the recent poll was taken supporters were out of state working for the Ron Paul campaign in Iowa.

Hair of the dog: A British court has barred a man from owning a dog for three years after his Labrador puppy was discovered drunk. The man explained he left a drink on the floor when he went out for a smoke. Neighbors later saw the dog staggering outside the man's home.

In addition to being barred from pet ownership, the man was ordered to drink from the toilet.
