Tulalip Resort Casino has named Linda M. Botts as national sales manager of the hotel. The London native has 12 years of hospitality sales experience, which includes a previous role with Clipper Vacations as the assistant vice president of sales. She has served as president of Skål International Seattle and is a member of Meeting Professionals International. Botts' Tulalip responsibilities include developing new group business, managing corporate accounts, and business travel.
Tulalip Resort Casino also has appointed Samuel B. Askew as general manager of the hotel. Askew brings more than 11 years of hospitality experience, having worked as hotel director at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort and as director of operations at Alderbrook Resort & Spa. In 2010, he was named Washington State General Manager of the Year and the Washington Lodging Association and Innkeeper of the Year by the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau.
Mutual of Omaha Bank has named Kris Gjylameti assistant vice president and regional account executive for the Pacific Northwest region of its community association banking operation. Based in Seattle, Gjylameti will provide specialized banking services to property management companies, homeowner associations and homeowners in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. Gjylameti joined the bank's community association banking team in 2006.
Fox Sports 1380 has announced the addition of longtime Seattle radio personality Rob "T-Man" Tepper to the "Fox Sports Tonight" program. Tepper will team up with former Major League Baseball pitcher and analyst Rob Dibble starting Monday night. Tepper is known for his radio work in Seattle, where he hosted an FM morning show on KUBE 93 for 14 years. He has served as a fill-in host on Fox Sports Radio since the fall. Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick will host a free business workshop on entrepreneurial planning. The workshop will be held in the Sultan Visitors Information Center, 320 Main St., from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Jan. 20. This is the first of four business workshops hosted by Eslick to help small business owners succeed and prosper. Eslick is the founder of GROW Washington, a not-for-profit organization created to help Washington entrepreneurs become sustainable business owners. Space is limited. Learn about Everett Community College's Aviation Maintenance Technician School at an information session at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The session is at 9711 32nd Place W., Building C-80, Paine Field in Everett. The school is one of only about 150 schools nationwide that train airframe and powerplant mechanics. Students can earn a Federal Aviation Administration airframe and powerplant license, a certificate in aviation technology or an associate technical arts degree. CMC Biologics, a Bothell-based bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, has been issued a European patent covering a method for improving productivity in microbial fermentations and mammalian cell culture bioreactors. The invention is designed to optimize production of a biotherapeutic in a continuous fermentation process.
