ANA’s 787 to reach 100,000 passenger mark Sunday

Japan’s All Nippon Airways will reach a new milestone with its Boeing Co. 787 aircraft this weekend. The airline will carry its 100,000th passenger on the Dreamliner’s flight from Hiroshima to Haneda on Sunday.

The milestone comes only two months after ANA put the first 787 into commercial service.

ANA’s 787 flights have been relatively full, with an 88 percent load factor, compared to 72.2 percent of ANA’s other aircraft flights, the carrier said Friday.

ANA will launch its first scheduled international routes using the 787 this month, with services to Beijing and to Frankfurt.

Roughly 96.3 percent of 787 flights have left on time, ANA said.

The carrier has ordered a total of 55 Dreamliners.
