Airbus boosts aircraft prices

Airbus has increased the average list prices of its aircraft by 3.9 per cent, the jet maker said Wednesday.
However, Airbus raised the list prices for its popular A320 new engine option jets by an average of 6.1 per cent.
The new pricing became effective Jan. 1. Airlines typically negotiate discounts off of list prices, particularly for large orders.
“Our new pricing reflects the strong demand for our modern, eco-efficient aircraft families,” John Leahy, Airbus chief operating officer for customers, said in a statement. “With competition amongst carriers heating up, any tool that helps cut their costs will pay handsome dividends.”
The list price of Airbus' A320neo is now about $96.7 million. The list price for Airbus' original A320 jet is $88.3 million.
The A330-200 freighter is priced at $211.5 million while Airbus' A350-800 is priced at $245.5 million. And the list price of an A380 is $389.9 million.
