Boeing suspends 2nd, 3rd shift at Frederickson plant
Storm downs power pole at Boeing site; operations as usual elsewhere

The Boeing Co. has told second and third shift workers at its Frederickson site to stay home on Thursday while operations at its other Puget Sound locations continue as normal despite a snow storm in the region.
A loose power line and a power pole leaning up against the main employee entrance at Boeing's Frederickson location prompted the company to suspend operations there Thursday, wrote Marc Birtel, a Boeing spokesman, in an email.
Boeing will make a decision about Friday operations in Frederickson and will post a message Thursday evening on its website.
A winter storm brought between 4 inches and 2 feet of snow Wednesday to Snohomish County, where Boeing's widebody jet plant is located.
On Thursday, freezing temperatures and more snow have made for a rough commute across the region.
Another 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected in the Everett area Thursday evening.
Boeing said Wednesday that the storm wasn't stopping jet production at its factories in western Washington.
Boeing's Birtel reiterated on Thursday that operations continue as normal though Boeing has seen a decline in employee attendance. Boeing workers are urged to coordinate with their supervisors about work options if they can't make it into work.
