Brier garage fire displaces 2, causes $200,000 in damage

BRIER -- A garage fire displaced two people and caused more than $200,000 damage in Brier on Friday morning.

The fire was reported just after 8:30 a.m. in the 21500 block of Elm Drive, said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1.

The fire caused heavy damage to the garage and destroyed a car parked inside. There also was heavy smoke damage throughout the house.

People who lived at the home were insured, Hynes said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire wasn't determined.

Crews also responded from Lynnwood and Bothell.
