Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch added to Pro Bowl roster

It's time for some Tropical Skittles (hat tip to Alex Akita over at SeattleSportsnet.com for that joke), Marshawn Lynch has been added to the NFC's Pro Bowl squad.
And a quick aside about the above-linked site before I go on. If you're not familiar with Seattle Sportsnet and Alex, he is a very good, very funny writer. His content, however, is not always family friendly, so go there if you enjoy laughing and a fun take on Seattle sports. Do not go there if you're easily offended by foul language and sophomoric, or as Alex calls it, freshmanic (sophomoric is too high-brow, he says) humor
Moving on. Lynch, who established career highs with 1,204 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, will head to Hawaii for this weekend's Pro Bowl in place of San Francisco's Frank Gore, who is out with an illness. Lynch joins starting free safety Earl Thomas, and reserves FB Michael Robinson (added last week as in injury replacement), S Kam Chancellor (added Monday) and CB Brandon Browner (added Monday), giving the Seahawks five Pro Bowlers this season. That's quite a step forward for a team that failed to produce a single Pro Bowler in 2009 and 2010.
Lynch, who is currently unsigned for next season, struggled along with the rest of the running game early in the season, and through seven games the Seahawks ranked 31st in the NFL in rushing. The team recommitted to the run game prior to the game in Dallas, and Lynch rushed for 135 yards in that game that, while a loss, was something of a turning point for the team. Lynch went over 100 yards in six of Seattle's final nine games while establishing a franchise record with touchdowns in 11 straight games, and became Seattle's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2005.
