SEATTLE — The Washington Transportation Department said avalanche control work on I-90 across Snoqualmie Pass and a snow slide on U.S. 2 across Stevens Pass interrupted travel Tuesday night across two main Cascade Mountain crossings.
Officials said they completed avalanche control work at one spot on I-90 only to find that additional work was needed at multiple locations due to increasing rainfall and rising temperatures.
