Boeing's Nicole Piasecki, vice president of business development and strategic integration, has been named to the board of directors for the Seattle branch of the Federal Reserve Bank, part of the Federal Reserve System.

The Seattle branch is part of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco as are offices in Portland, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. The Federal Reserve System formulates monetary policy, serves as a bank regulator and administers certain consumer protection laws.

Boeing's Piasecki joined the company in 1992 as an engineer on the 777 program. In her current role, Piasecki is responsible for strategic planning and analysis for the company's long-term competitiveness and growth.

The Federal Reserve also said this week that it appointed Martha Choe, who is chief administrative officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to the Seattle branch's board of directors. Choe joined the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2004. She oversees the information technology, security, and global resources teams.

Piasecki and Choe were appointed to provide insights on their respective business sectors and offer observations on the economy. Their terms began Jan. 1.
